Agra: Ahead of Bakr-Eid, a two-and-a-half-foot tall goat has created a buzz in Aligarh due to its short height and “narrow” eyes. Fondly called ‘Chinese’ by its owner Abdul Wasid, the goat is drawing crowds, many of who believe that the animal has come from China.After a local news channel ran a story on ‘Chinese’ a few days ago, local residents have vied with one another to make a bid for the goat. Wasid, however, says it is not for sale.“Chinese will be sacrificed for my own family. But I have decided not to sacrifice the animal on the Bakr-Eid day, thus giving the goat a few more days to live,” Wasid told TOI.Just a year old, Chinese weighed around 70kg a couple of months ago. The goat eats fruits, dry fruits and loves cold drinks.“Thumbs-Up is its favourite brand though he also drinks Pepsi and Coca-Cola. He even gulps down a couple of them during peak winter,” Wasid said.Wasid claimed that his goat is “unique” and he hasn’t seen anyone like it. “Even the Delhi market that I visited recently doesn’t have anyone close to my goat. Chinese jaisa koi nahin,” he said.Wasid told TOI that he has another goat of Afghan breed, named Sultan. “It weighs around 150 kg and is taller than Chinese. But people want to see only Chinese,” he said.
