Two Bangladeshi nationals with fake Aadhar, PAN held from Vrindavan

Agra: Mathura police on Wednesday arrested two Bangladeshi nationals for allegedly living illegally in India and using fake Aadhaar and PAN cards. They initially claimed that they had lost their passport, but police recovered their Bangladeshi passport from their rented house. “Two passports, two Aadhaar cards, two PAN cards, two passbooks, four mobile phones, two cheque books and some Bangladeshi documents have been seized from them,” he said. After arriving in Vrindavan, they first applied for Aadhaar and PAN cards by using fake names — Joy Gopal Debonath and Nonidev Gopal Nath. They have been booked under various sections of IPC and the Foreigners Act.According to officials, the duo left Bangladesh on July 12.

Posing as “sadhus”, the duo was working as unregistered “sevadars” (volunteers) at ISKCON temple.Police said that Joy Debonath and Nonidev Nath, both in their mid-twenties, have been living here for over a month. They have been booked under various sections of IPC and the Foreigners Act.According to officials, the duo left Bangladesh on July 12. After arriving in Vrindavan, they first applied for Aadhaar and PAN cards by using fake names — Joy Gopal Debonath and Nonidev Gopal Nath. Later, the duo opened an account in Punjab National Bank. They also applied for an Indian passport, but were caught by the local intelligence unit (LIU) officer, who got suspicious about their names while verifying their documents.Mathura SP (city) Shravan Kumar Singh told TOI that the LIU officer caught their bluff during questioning. They initially claimed that they had lost their passport, but police recovered their Bangladeshi passport from their rented house. Further, their phone records showed that they had made several calls to Bangladesh in the last one month.Based on their confession, police have started searching for Rakesh Gaur and Shubham, the two men who supplied forged documents to the Bangladeshi nationals. The SP said that the duo was planning to permanently settle in India.In-charge of Ramanreti outpost under Vrindavan police station, Vipin Gautam said that an FIR has been registered against the two men under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471(using as genuine a forged document) of the IPC and section 14 of the Foreigners Act. “Two passports, two Aadhaar cards, two PAN cards, two passbooks, four mobile phones, two cheque books and some Bangladeshi documents have been seized from them,” he said.
