64 UP cops to be booked for not vacating residences

JHANSI: Jhansi police will book 64 police officials for not vacating their official residences despite getting transferred to different regions. Among these 64 officials, four are of inspector rank, seven are head constables and rest constables.SSP Vinod Kumar Singh, “These officials have not vacated their houses despite getting transferred. Police will also realise the rent from these officials. We had served notices in the past too but we did not get any response from their side. The moment we get we will start working on it.”

JHANSI: Jhansi police will book 64 police officials for not vacating their official residences despite getting transferred to different regions. Police will also realise the rent from these officials. The order was passed by SSP Jhansi Vinod Kumar Singh on Friday.The order came after these officials, some of whom were transferred six to eight years ago, did not vacate their houses despite being given several notices and reminders. Among these 64 officials, four are of inspector rank, seven are head constables and rest constables.SSP Vinod Kumar Singh, “These officials have not vacated their houses despite getting transferred. We had served notices in the past too but we did not get any response from their side. So, I have ordered to register an FIR against them. In addition, we will realise rent of these accommodations in multiplicative terms from the occupants.”A person has to pay around Rs 2-2.5 lakh per year if occupying the house despite the term is over, he added.Jitendra Singh Chandel, station officer of Nawabad where the FIR will be lodged, said “The order has been made but we are yet to receive a copy. The moment we get we will start working on it.”
