the number of students registered for board exams has decreased by more than 20,000 in Agra district as compared to last year. Out of these, 65,810 have registered for high school and 60,132 for intermediate exams. So far, 53 online applications have been received for fresh affiliation.As far as the number of students is concerned, in 2016, a total of 1,64,471 students registered for board examination in Agra district. Presently there are 876 UP Board affiliated schools in Agra district. Some students are opting for other boards”.As per department records, this year.

Agra: The number of students enrolling under the UP Board for high school and intermediate education has been declining over the past few years, according to secondary education department records.Over the past four years in Agra district, the number of students who have registered for board exams (high school and intermediate) has decreased by 38,500.Explaining the fall in number of registrations, district inspector of schools Ravindra Kumar Singh said, “The online system for registration of students for board exams and strict curbs on cheating in exams has resulted in decrease in number of students applying for the UP Board exams. Some students are opting for other boards”.As per department records, this year. the number of students registered for board exams has decreased by more than 20,000 in Agra district as compared to last year. Presently there are 876 UP Board affiliated schools in Agra district. Out of these, 54 were granted affiliation earlier this year. So far, 53 online applications have been received for fresh affiliation.As far as the number of students is concerned, in 2016, a total of 1,64,471 students registered for board examination in Agra district. In 2017, the number decreased to 1,46,868 followed by 1,46,406 in 2018. For the 2018-19 academic session, a total of 1,25,942 students have filled their exam forms. Out of these, 65,810 have registered for high school and 60,132 for intermediate exams.
