3 injured as pistol misfires during idol immersion in Farrukhabad

Agra: On Monday evening, while scores of local residents of Farrukhabad were heading toward the Ganga to immerse Ganesha idols, the country-made pistol of a man misfired, injuring him and two others, including a woman. The incident took place near Pucca pul in city limits of Farrukhabad at around 6 pm.According to police, Umesh Gautam, a local, was loading his country-made pistol to fire in the air when it misfired. “A woman was hit in her leg by a bullet pellet, while Umesh himself and another man suffered injuries in their hands. The incident created panic as people started running away from the spot of the immersion. The three were taken to a hospital for medical aid and are now out of danger,” said the SHO Farrukhabad.By the time this report was filed, no written complaint was filed and hence, no FIR has been lodged yet.
