RBS college celebrates 166th founders day, 650-seater mega auditorium inaugurated

Agra: Raja Balwant Singh College, UP’s one and only NAAC A+ graded college, in Agra celebrated its 166th founder’s day on Friday. Founder of the institute Raja Balwant Singh’s life must be celebrated for his visionary approach towards progress of the nation”.Ambareesh Pal Singh, great grandson of Raja Balwant Singh, congratulated the people and termed the event as “historic”.Minister Jai Pratap Singh said, “I am proud to participate as the chief guest in birth anniversary celebration of Raja Balwant Singh. The high school was raised to the level of an intermediate college in 1928 and to that of a degree college in 1940.” State excise minister Jai Pratap Singh inaugurated a 650-seater mega Rao Krishna Pal Singh auditorium at the Khandari campus of the college.Padma Shri awardee Raghuveer Singh Sirohi said, “Today, RBS College is known around the world for its immense contribution in education. Credit goes to Raja Balwant Singh of Awagarh, the founder to get the boarding house, from where the first batch of students appeared at the Matriculation Examination of Allahabad University in 1901.

The institute has a largest campus in Asia. It has developed illustrious professionals in diverse fields. Founder of the institute Raja Balwant Singh’s life must be celebrated for his visionary approach towards progress of the nation”.Ambareesh Pal Singh, great grandson of Raja Balwant Singh, congratulated the people and termed the event as “historic”.Minister Jai Pratap Singh said, “I am proud to participate as the chief guest in birth anniversary celebration of Raja Balwant Singh. And inaugurate the state of the art auditorium”.The minister raised concerns about the ‘degrading standards of education’. He said there is a high requirement for higher education centers like the RBS College, which develops a sense of responsibility among students for the progress of society and development of the country.Principal SP Madnavat said, “RBS started as a small boarding house for 20 students, established way back in 1885 in the outhouse of The Kotla House in Bagh Farzana. Credit goes to Raja Balwant Singh of Awagarh, the founder to get the boarding house, from where the first batch of students appeared at the Matriculation Examination of Allahabad University in 1901. The high school was raised to the level of an intermediate college in 1928 and to that of a degree college in 1940.”
