Sub-registrar caught taking Rs 200 bribe from farmer

Tehsildar Durgesh Yadav said that based on the written complaint by the farmer, the officer will be booked for corruption. On Monday, the SDM handed over Rs 200 to the farmer and asked him to offer the same to the sub registrar. Agra: In a joint operation by Sadar SDM and tehsildar in Etah district on Monday, a sub registrar was allegedly caught in his office taking a bribe of Rs 200 from a farmer, who had been seeking a discharge certificate for his mortgaged land.Identified as Pramod Kumar Saxena, the acting sub registrar was caught by SDM Mahendra Singh Tanwar and tehsildar Durgesh Yadav while taking bribe. The accused officer was handed over to local police for legal action.Speaking to TOI, tehsildar Durgesh Yadav said, “We had been receiving complaints against him for taking money from local residents to process their documentation work. On Monday, a tarp was laid with the help local farmer Roshan Lal, who had earlier complained about Saxena.”“Roshan Lal had been making the rounds of sub registrar office to obtain a certificate of discharge for his mortgaged land.

As soon the officer took the currency, the team led by Sadar SDM caught him,” added Yadav.By the time this report was filed, Etah police was yet to lodge an FIR against the accused officer. Tehsildar Durgesh Yadav said that based on the written complaint by the farmer, the officer will be booked for corruption.
