AGRA: Two days after the Uttar Pradesh government allotted a sprawling bungalow at 6, Lal Bahadur Shastri Marg to former cabinet minister and founder of Samajwadi Secular Morcha (SSM) Shivpal Yadav , Uttar Pradesh sports and youth welfare minister Chetan Chauhan on Sunday said that Yadav was welcome to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The bungalow was vacated around four months ago by Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati. Chauhan made the statement while attending a BJP event at the Eklavya Sports Stadium in Agra.“Yadav is influenced by the BJP ideology and workings of the state government,” he said.Chauhan was in the city to flag off a run for women empowerment organised by the BJP Mahila Morcha . Speaking to mediapersons, he said that the state government’s decision to allot the bungalow to Yadav was taken following standard norms. He also condemned his cabinet colleague and BJP ally Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) chief Om Prakash Rajbhar’s statement that the decision was taken to “favour” Yadav and weaken the Samajwadi Party. Rajbhar, on Saturday, had also said that his demand for a government building for a party office has been ignored for more than a year.“The bungalow was allotted to Yadav as he deserves it. If Rajbhar has any objection, he should speak with chief minister Yogi Adityanath,” added Chauhan.Meanwhile, Yadav along with his son Aditya Yadav and several former SP members carried out a massive road show in Etawah and Firozabad districts on Sunday to gather support for the SSM ahead of the Lok Sabha elections next year. Over 500 SUVs were part of the 50 km-long road show.
