Drunk woman held for slapping bus conductor

Agra: A heavily inebriated woman who was travelling on a UP roadways bus bound for Rae Bareli from Ajmer was arrested by Tundla police in Firozabad district after she allegedly assaulted and abused the bus conductor and fellow passengers. Later in Tundla, she slapped the conductor and again the police was called.”Conductor Jayant Kumar said, “Never in my life have I ever come to face such an unruly woman passenger. She was heavily drunk and I had to call police to stop her from making a nuisance of herself.” She boarded the bus from Agra ISBT for Kanpur.

A video of the incident has gone viral.Identified as Sandhya Yadav, she is a resident of Kalyanpur in Kanpur. She boarded the bus from Agra ISBT for Kanpur. She appeared to belong to a well heeled background, police said.She misbehaved when to asked to buy a ticket and bought it after police intervened, a passenger said. In Tundla, the woman slapped the conductor and again police was called. The woman also engaged in a verbal spat with a few women passengers who tried to intervene on behalf of the conductor, she alleged.According to SHO B D Pandey. Yadav has been booked under IPC sections 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace). She was presented at the district court on Monday and sent to jail. When asked about why she was aggressive over a Rs 323 ticket, she chose to remain quiet, he added.“Yadav was heavily drunk and we recovered a liquor bottle from her luggage,” said Pandey.Madhu Singh, 45, a fellow passenger claimed, “The woman misbehaved with everyone. When police intervened, she tore her clothes and threatened to frame them in a molestation case.”Guddi Devi. 48, a passenger said, “Police had to intervene twice to calm her down. In Agra after police intervention, she paid for the ticket. Later in Tundla, she slapped the conductor and again the police was called.”Conductor Jayant Kumar said, “Never in my life have I ever come to face such an unruly woman passenger. She was heavily drunk and I had to call police to stop her from making a nuisance of herself.”
