AGRA: A couple from Farrukhabad’s Maudarwaja was allegedly drugged and robbed by two men from Jaipur who were staying over at their house as guests . The woman also claimed that she was gang-raped by the duo.According to police, the incident came to light on Tuesday morning when the neighbours found the couple lying unconscious at home. They were alerted by the cries of the couple’s toddler. They immediately rushed them to a nearby hospital and informed police. The victims narrated the entire sequence of events to police on regaining consciousness.D B Tiwari, station house officer of Maudarwaja, said, “According to the complaint, two zardozi workers, identified as Shaheed and Javed from Jaipur, had come to Farrukhabad for collecting payment from a customer. They decided to spend the night at the couple’s house as the man was a former co-worker of the accused. They later offered eatables laced with sedatives to the couple and robbed them. When the victims regained consciousness on Tuesday, they found that valuables and cash worth Rs 1.72 lakh was missing from the house. The woman also claimed that she was gang-raped by the accused as she lay unconscious.” “We have registered a case against the accused under IPC sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison) and 380 (theft in dwelling). Rape charges will be included in the FIR if medical examination of the woman proves it.”
