AGRA: Three days after a four-year-old girl was found raped and murdered in a remote village of Etah district , police on Sunday apprehended the paramour of victim’s mother, who confessed to the gruesome act. Identified as Titu Singh (40), resident of Piphara village of Nidhauli Kala police jurisdiction, the accused was arrested from Saithra tri-section of Rafatnagar, while he was trying to flee away.Speaking to TOI, Dev Anand, circle officer of Jaithra said, “On Diwali night Titu abducted the victim from her home and raped her before smothering her to death. During interrogation, Titu said, he actually came to meet the girl’s mother as the duo were in an illicit relationship, but when he couldn’t meet her, he took advantage of the four-year-old girl.”On Thursday morning, the victim’s body was found just 50-meters away from her home in Piphara village. The victim was youngest among six siblings and was living with her two teenage brothers, while rest three lived with their spouse and children.Jaiveer, the Piphara village pradhan pati said, "In April month victim’s father committed suicide after he found about his wife's illicit affair. Later in October month, the victim’s mother went missing leaving her three minor kids alone. On Diwali night the victim was sleeping along with her two teenage brothers.”Officer Dev Anand said, “After dinner at her uncle’s house, the victim went to her home at 9 pm and slept on a cot beside her two teenage brothers. During questioning, one of the brothers (7) said, at around 5 am he woke up and found his sister missing. He went out looking for her and saw her body and alerted his relatives.”Accused Titu was booked under IPC sections 376 (rape), 302 (murder), 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) and POCSO act.
