Inter-state vehicle lifting gang busted in Etah, over two dozen vehicles recovered

Arga: Dehat Kotwali, under Etah district police jurisdiction, busted an inter-state vehicle lifting gang on Wednesday. We have recovered 24 two wheelers, a car and two country-made pistol.”All the accused have been booked under IPC 413 (Habitually dealing in stolen property), 411 (Dishonestly receiving stolen property) and 25 arms act. The police also recovered a car and 24 two-wheelers from the gang.According to police, the gang was caught after an encounter near Jawada railway bridge. The hunt for the third accused has been launched. While two of the gang-members were apprehended, one managed to escape.The two nabbed accused were identified as Shamshad and Kamal Singh of Jalesar and Nidhauli Kala of Etah district respectively, while their aide, who fled away, was identified as Pankaj of Dehat Kotwali.According to Anup Kumar Bharti, station house officer of Dehat Kotwali, “The gang stole vehicles from NCR and various districts of Meerut and Agra zone and sold them at cheaper prices in the local market.
