Train ops suspended over fog farmers protest

The protesters, who had gathered from 100 villages and are daily commuters on the train, asked for limited operation of the train – at least once in the morning and evening – as stopping it entirely would be a major inconvenience to them.Police and railway officials reached the spot to control the situation. They proposed that three to four protesters be sent to meet higher authorities, which the agitators didn’t agree to. Eventually, DRM Ranjan Yadav came out of his office to address the protesters. We have asked the DRM to ensure that train operates at least twice a day on the route, in the morning and evening.”The DRM assured protesters that the memorandum would be forwarded to the railway board. “The train has been cancelled for now, but all possible efforts will be made to get permission of the board for its limited operation,” he said.
