AGRA: A criminal who was released from jail a few days ago and an aide were shot dead in an apparent gang war at Nagla Sadak village in Hathras district of UP on Wednesday afternoon.Police said one of the dead was identified as Laxman Pehalwan, who had several cases against him, and his aide was identified as Ravi. The latter’s criminal record is yet to be found.The duo was attacked by about half a dozen members of a rival gang, just one km from Laxman’s house while they were travelling in their car. The assailants are suspected to members of the Bhola Pehalwan gang.Talking with TOI, SP, Hathras, Siddhartha Meena said Laxman was release from jail a few days ago and he was involved in several criminal cases in Agra and Hathras districts. A forensic team was also called to collect samples and further investigation is on.

The assailants, who were reportedly travelling in two vehicles, intercepted Laxman’s car from both sides and opened indiscriminate fire at the duoPolice said at least eight rounds were fired and six hit the duo, killing them on the spot. According to police, the two gangs had a long standing rivalry over some property. The assailants are suspected to members of the Bhola Pehalwan gang.Talking with TOI, SP, Hathras, Siddhartha Meena said Laxman was release from jail a few days ago and he was involved in several criminal cases in Agra and Hathras districts.
