After an FIR was registered against three-time Bari MLA Malinga for allegedly using fraudulent means to obtain class X certificate, the secondary education department of Agra is going to recommend to the UP Board to cancel his 2016 certificate.Joint director, secondary education, Arvind Kumar Pandey said, “The investigation conducted by the department has found that Malinga used a fake class X certificate to qualify as a private student of a state government-aided school. This is the main reason that the FIR has been registered in Agra and not in Dholpur.

His mark sheet which was issued in 2016 is cancelled.”The secondary education department investigated Malinga’s class X certificate after a complaint was filed by Dholpur-based BJP leader Jaswant Singh Gurjar, who was trounced by Malinga in the last assembly polls.Following Agra’s DAV Inter College principal Moti Katra’s complaint, a case was registered against the MLA at MM Gate police station on Thursday. The charges include IPC sections 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating), 471 (using as genuine a forged document) and 420 (cheating and dishonestly including delivery of property).MM Gate station officer Shivprasad Sonkar said, “The investigation is on and action will be taken accordingly.”BJP leader Jaswant Singh Gurjar said, “The charges against Malinga are serious. He has been found guilty in the probe conducted by secondary education department. The Congress government in Rajasthan must immediately end his membership as an MLA. Otherwise the BJP will protest against him.”When contacted, MLA Malinga said, “The entire case is fake and politically motivated. The BJP government in UP can do anything against me. This is the main reason that the FIR has been registered in Agra and not in Dholpur. So far, I have not received any formal intimation.”
