Agra: A speeding SUV hit a road divider and overturned on Yamuna Expressway near here on Sunday morning leaving two women dead and injuring three other members of their family which was coming from Delhi’s Uttam Nagar area.The accident took place in Agra’s Naujheel area at 9 in the morning after the man on the wheel fell asleep, police said. The SUV hit a divider and turned turtle, leaving the two women dead on the spot. The injured were pulled out of the vehicle and were rushed to a hospital.45-year-old Kiran Devi and Gaziya Devi (68) were among the dead. Kiran’s husband Parmanand and two others, Ramkishor and Ramparash, were seriously hurt in the accident. Parmanand was said to be on the steering wheel.The victims were going to Bihar to attend a wedding ceremony when the tragedy struck.This year, a total 11 people have been killed in four different road accidents on the expressway. On January 28, singer Shivani Bhatia (24) traveling with her husband, Nikhil Bhatia from Noida to Agra, met with an accident on the expressway near Mathura. She succumbed to her injuries next day.Similarly, on January 12, three persons were killed and a dozen injured in an accident on the expressway in Mathura district. The accident took place after a speeding hatchback carrying five persons rammed into a bus which had toppled on the expressway a few minutes ago.On January 2, four persons including a minor from Delhi were killed on expressway. Three others including a woman and a teenager suffered grievous injuries. The accident took place in Naujheel area of Mathura district.
