AGRA: Rajya Sabha MP and Samajwadi Party principal general secretary Ram Gopal Yadav on Sunday claimed that there will be no impact of Priyanka Gandhi in the existing political equations in the state. Mocking Congress leaders who are dubbing Priyanka as the “game changer”, Yadav said the party should then appoint her as the AICC president rather than just general secretary of UP East.Mounting a scathing attack on the Congress, Yadav said that in 2012 assembly polls, she was given the responsibility of 10 seats that fall in the constituencies of Amethi and Rai Bareli, represented by Rahul and Sonia Gandhi, but she lost nine, barring the Amethi seat.Yadav, who was in Mainpuri on Sunday to attend a function, defended BSP supremo, Mayawati, over the apex court’s observations regarding statutes installed by her during her regime. “The court has not given any orders and misinformation is being spread about it on the social media by the union government, which is expert in speaking lies,” he said.When pointed out that even SP chief Akhilesh Yadav had also lashed at Mayawati for getting her statues erected with the state’s money in 2012, Yadav said Akhilesh’s government did not find any discrepancies during the inquiry. He said that the BJP was getting nervous and desperate after the SP-BSP alliance and was adopting all sorts of tactics to harm it.
