Man injured in attack by stray bulls in Agras Pinhat area

AGRA: In yet another case of stray cattle attacking people on the road, a 30-year-old man was injured when two bulls charged at him in Pinhat area of Agra district. “The two bulls were engaged in a fight in the middle of the road. On Friday, a 52-year-old farmer was gored to death by a bull at Nagla Nathua village under Jasrana police jurisdiction of Firozabad district. Since I was getting late for duty, I did not stop my motorcycle and tried to pass the spot by taking the extreme side of the road but the bulls attacked me. The animals dragged me several meters along with the motorbike.

AGRA: In yet another case of stray cattle attacking people on the road, a 30-year-old man was injured when two bulls charged at him in Pinhat area of Agra district. The incident took place on Monday late night when Jitender Singh, who works as guard at a gas agency, was on his way o his motorbike for night duty.Jitender was attacked near a cold storage at Nandgaon Road under the jurisdiction of Pinhat police. The victim hails from Khera Rathore village. “The two bulls were engaged in a fight in the middle of the road. Since I was getting late for duty, I did not stop my motorcycle and tried to pass the spot by taking the extreme side of the road but the bulls attacked me. The animals dragged me several meters along with the motorbike. I suffered injuries on my head, face, chest and limbs,” said Jitender.In total, eight persons were killed by stray cattle in West UP this year so far.Last Saturday, a 42-year-old man was in killed by bull in Sewla Gorwa village under Fatehabad police jurisdiction while he was guarding his field. On Friday, a 52-year-old farmer was gored to death by a bull at Nagla Nathua village under Jasrana police jurisdiction of Firozabad district. On February 2, a 66-year-old farmer was run over by a train while he was trying to chase a bovine away from his agricultural land in Bhadrauli village under the jurisdiction of Pinhat police station.Earlier in the month, chief minister Yogi Adityanath had directed all district magistrates to ensure that stray animals, including cattle, be shifted to ‘Gau Sanrakshan Kendras’ by January 10. The order is yet to be implemented fully.Recently, there have been several incidents of farmers locking up abandoned cattle in government premises such as schools and health centres and other establishments, across the state to save their crops.According to the 19th livestock census conducted in 2012, UP has over 10 lakh stray animals.
