BJP workers urge Union HRD minister to constitute SIT against AMU officials

AGRA: Accusing AMU's proctor, Mohsin Khan and registrar, Abdul Hamid of protecting ‘anti-social elements’, Aligarh’s BJP workers have shot a letter to the Union HRD minister Prakash Javdekar urging him to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe their actions. They have also demanded that the security of the university should be handed over to the district administration.In a letter to HRD minister, district media incharge of the BJP, Nishit Sharma, wrote that the proctor and registrar are incapable of protecting the students adding that the AMU’s anti-social elements have become “aggressive” just like the Kashmir stone-pelters.Meanwhile, Hindu Yuva Vahini activists burnt an effigy of the AMU administration at DS College to protest against the assault of some students of a community on Tuesday.Founding member of Hindu Chatra Yuva Vahini, Aditya Pandit, said, “We demand that the union government should take cognizance of the matter and take action against the anti-social elements inside the campus”.
