AMU studentsrsquo union bans news channelrsquos entry in campus

Agra: In a banner put up at the varsity’s Baab-e-Syed Gate, Aligarh Muslim Students’ Union (AMUSU) has banned the entry of the private news channel whose crew along with BJP’s youth wing members allegedly clashed with the students on Tuesday evening.The students’ union alleged the news channel had used derogatory language against the university and had tarnished the institution’s image.In a letter written to President Ram Nath Kovind, who is also the visitor of AMU , AMUSU appealed to him to intervene into the matter as “continuous attempts are being made to malign AMU’s image on false charges by a certain section of media and right-wing forces”.The union said, “We are deeply hurt and offended.
