Two of Delhibased family killed 2 hurt as SUV falls off flyover on Yamuna Expressway

Manorma (35) and her mother-in-law Ramvati (70) died on the spot, while Manorma’s husband Rajesh Tiwari (37) and nephew Manoj Tiwari (22) were rushed to a private hospital in Agra city with serious injuries. The SUV was badly damaged after hitting the ground and rescuing victims from the mangled vehicle had become difficult.”After gaining consciousness following medical intervention at the hospital, Manoj said, “I don’t know what exactly had happened as I was sleeping. The family runs a business of taxi service in Delhi.Speaking to TOI, sub-inspector Raj Kumar, who was among the first to reach the spot, said, “Apparently Manoj Tiwari, who was behind the wheel, dozed off and lost control over the speeding vehicle that hit divider and fell off the flyover. Agra: Two of a Delhi-based family were killed and two others injured after the SUV they were travelling in hit the divider on Yamuna Expressway and fell off the flyover near milestone 137 under Baldeo police jurisdiction in Mathura district on Thursday morning.The accident took place around 6.30am when four members of the family hailing from Chandan Vihar of Prem Nagar locality in Delhi were on their way to attend a wedding ceremony in Sultanpur. We were going to attend a wedding ceremony when the accident took place.”Incidentally, two days ago, nine people were killed after an ambulance rammed the divider and collided head-on with a hatchback car on the other side of the road at the same section near the 138 milestone under the jurisdiction Baldeo police.According to police, 25 people have been killed on Yamuna Expressway this year so far; of these 13 died this month only.
