Agra: City magistrate issues notice to rights panel member, others

AGRA: Sakshi Baijal, member of Uttar Pradesh Commission for Protection of Child Rights, has been issued a notice by city magistrate ahead of Lok Sabha election. "City magistrate Prabhakant Aw asti said, "Sakshi Baijal and other men have been issued notice based on the report submitted by Kotwali police." Speaking to TOI, Sakshi Baijal said, "There is not a single case against me in any police station. Last year, BJP party workers handed a memorandum expressing their discontent over Baijal's appointment as a member of SCPCR. Since I'm active in politics, I'm being targeted by rival men who are leaving no stone unturned to spoil my name.

A total 15 persons, including Sakshi Baijal and his personal assistant Vijendra Sharma, have been bound by the court of city magistrate of Agra, Prabhakant Awasti.According to notice, "Taking cognizance of an earlier attempt to create nuisance and disturbing the peace and tranquility during municipal corporation election, the men are being notified and issued a notice under section 107/116 of CrPc as a precautionary measure. They have to appear in court by March 30, 2019 and explain their stand as to why the court should not issue a notice to them under personal bond of Rs one lakh each." Speaking to TOI, Sakshi Baijal said, "There is not a single case against me in any police station. Since I'm active in politics, I'm being targeted by rival men who are leaving no stone unturned to spoil my name. The administrative officers are executing their powers without giving it a thought."City magistrate Prabhakant Aw asti said, "Sakshi Baijal and other men have been issued notice based on the report submitted by Kotwali police." Last year, BJP party workers handed a memorandum expressing their discontent over Baijal's appointment as a member of SCPCR.
