Agra: Senior BJP leader Vinay Katiyar on Sunday said that even Samajwadi Party (SP) patriarch Mulayam Singh Yadav, also known as ‘netaji’, wants Narendra Modi to be the prime minister of the country again. Hence, people of Uttar Pradesh (UP) should vote for him, he added.Addressing a public gathering in MSY’s bastion Mainpuri, Katiyar referred to SP leader’s statement in the Lok Sabha and said that no one can stop Modi’s return as the prime minister.Notably, in the last sitting of the 16th Lok Sabha, Mulayam had said, “I wish that all members come back to the House.” He drew applause from the BJP members who were in a majority in the House. Pointing to Modi, he also said that he wishes that the BJP leader comes back as the PM.The ruling alliance members then heartily cheered Mulayam with chants of “Jai Shri Ram” as he praised Modi for “making efforts to take everyone along”.Modi, in fact, acknowledged SP patriarch’s praise with folded hands and later made a mention of Mulayam’s “blessings” in his speech.Furthermore, in a controversial statement, Katiyar alleged that it was the Congress that gave birth to terrorism in India. He also said that political parties like SP and BSP have worked in UP with an ideology to spread terrorism.“These political parties want violence and want to see people get killed so that they can blame others for it and further their own political interests,” he added.Katiyar also criticised Ram Gopal Yadav for his recent statement on Pulwama attack, and said that such leaders have no respect for soldiers who had laid down their lives for the country.
