Hema Malini files nomination from Mathura, says it’s her last election

AGRA: Actor-turned-politician and sitting Member of Parliament from Mathura Hema Malini on Monday filed her nomination to recontest from her constituency. After filing papers, Hema said it would be her last election.Accompanied by UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath , Hema earlier performed prayers at Banke-Bihari temple in Vrindavan.Talking to the media, she said, “This is my last election. Many youngsters are there, who will take over and do the work. I don’t want to be a hindrance in their path. After this, I will not contest polls.

I will be with them as they have been with me.”Hema added that she was seeking a second term to complete the leftover works that she had started.“I will work hard and come back to bring development to the area,” said Hema, adding that she was thankful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and party chief Amit Shah for choosing her again from Mathura.Asked about the SP-BSP-RLD alliance, Hema said that she had worked with full dedication and hoped that people would return her to Parliament. “I’m confident of my victory,” she added.Hema Malini would be contesting against Congress’s Mahesh Pathak, an industrialist, and SP-BSP-RLD candidate Kunwar Narendra Singh, who had lost two assembly elections from Mathura.Interestingly, Narendra’s elder brother Kunwar Manvendra Singh , who was a Congress MP from Mathura for three terms, joined the BJP on Sunday evening in the presence of party national president Amit Shah.
