Babbar, Baghel and 9 other poll candidates files nomination

One candidate had filed nomination on Friday.On Fatehpur Sikri seat, congress state president Raj Babbar filed nomination. AGRA: Total 11 candidates filed nomination for Lok Sabha election on Agra and Fatehpur Sikri seat at the district collectorate on Monday. On March 22, Vijay Singh Baghel of Rashtriya Shoshit Samaj Party had filed papers.On Agra seat, SP Singh Baghel of BJP, Manoj Kumar Soni of BSP. Rajveer Singh of BSP, Satendra Baghel of Aam Janata Party, Uttra of Ambedkarite Party whereas Thomson Massey, Hasanuram Ambedkari and Ram Bharosi filed nomination as independent candidates. Out of these four nomination were filed on Agra seat and 7 on Fatehpur Sikri.

Preeta Harit of Congress party and Chandrapal Singh of Aadarsh Samaj Party filed nomination.On Fatehpur Sikri seat, BSP candidate Rajveer Singh didn’t submitted “B form” (official proof that a particular candidate is put up by a political party). This has posed question of his candidature. However he assured the election officials to submit it tomorrow.Fatehpur Sikri candidate Raj Babbar before filing nomination went to offer prayer at ancient Mankameshwar Temple located in center of the city near Rawatpara. Large number of congress workers accompanied him to the temple. At 2:30 his convoy reached collectorate. The veteran cine star who belongs to Agra, filled four sets of nomination forms. The first set was filled at 2:54 PM.BSP candidates Manoj Soni and Rajveer Singh came to file nomination after garlanding statue of Bharat Ratna, Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Leaders of Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal accompanied the BSP leaders as coalition partners.BJP candidate SP Singh Baghel took out rally from Valmiki Vatika near Subhash Park to collectorate for filling nomination. Mayor Naveen Jain and several other BJP leaders accompanied Baghel to file nomination. Bands were played in the rally which was attended by over 1000 people. The rally caused massive traffic jam on MG road.Assistant district election officer Bharat Singh said, “Tuesday will be the last day for filing nominations. After this on March 26, the returning officers will check the nomination forms submitted by candidates on March 27 and 28. On March 29, candidates will have a chance to withdraw their names. After that, the final list of candidates will be announced."
