AGRA: A day after Mulayam Singh Yadav (MSY) is said to have indicated that he may not campaign for his brother, Shivpal Singh Yadav on Saturday said, “In elections, there are no brothers or nephews.”After filing nomination for Firozabad parliamentary constituency, the Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party-Lohia (PSPL) chief parried query on MSY’s participation in his rallies.When specifically asked about his elder brother MSY expressing no concern for him, Shivpal remarked, “I’m capable of forming a party and contesting elections. The six-month-old PSPL has fielded 41 candidates. And with support from around 50 smaller parties, we will contest an additional 38 seats.”Shivpal further said, “We will win a majority of Lok Sabha seats in the state. The party is also contesting in 11 states. ‘Netaji’ knows and understands better what he said. I have respected him always and will continue to do so.”Notably, minutes before filing nomination on Saturday, Shivpal also told mediapersons, “With the support of maximum MPs of PSPL, Mulayam will be elected as a national leader.” Shivpal had also said that he had blessings of ‘Netaji’ and he would put all his efforts to help his elder brother win Mainpuri seat with a record margin.On Friday, when Mulayam was asked whether he would extend support and attend Shivpal’s public rallies if the PSPL chief invites him, he said, “Leave it. Everyone organises rallies.
