AGRA: The Pocso court in Muzaffarnagar issued a notice to Alia Siddiqui, the wife of actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, to appear before it on October 7. The Muzaffarnagar police submitted a closure report in a case filed by Alia against the actor and several of her in-laws, prompting the notice."This is standard court procedure. When the police submit a final report (closure report) in any case, the complainant is asked to provide their statement regarding the closure report, indicating whether they are satisfied with it or not," assistant district government counsel (ADGC) Pradeep Balyan said. In 2020, Alia lodged a complaint at Versova police station in Mumbai against her brother-in-law, accusing him of misbehaviour. On July 27, 2020, a case was registered against her husband Nawazuddin, brother-in-laws Minajuddin, Faiyazuddin, Ayazuddin, and mother-in-law Mehrunisha under various IPC sections and the Pocso Act. Later, the case was transferred to Budhana Kotwali in Muzaffarnagar. According to Alias complaint, while she and her minor daughter were at Nawazuddins house in Budhana, her brother-in-law, Minajuddin, molested her daughter. When she protested, she was allegedly beaten and her husband prevented her from reporting the incident to the police.
