Radhasoami land dispute: HC halts demolition drive in Agra

AGRA: The Radhasoami Satsang Sabha on Monday knocked on the doors of the Allahabad high court, seeking a stay over the demolition drive carried out by the local administration.Hearing our plea, the Allahabad High Court has stayed the demolition drive till further orders, SK Nayyar, spokesperson for the Satsang Sabha, said.Tensions gripped Agra on Sunday, when around 30 people, including police personnel, members of the Sabha and a media representative, suffered injuries in a clash between followers of the Sabha and police.We also published the following articles recentlyTension erupts in Agra as Satsangis, local admin clashA clash between members of the Radhasoami Satsang Sabha and the local administration in Agra resulted in stone pelting, leaving at least 10 police officers injured. The building had been previously razed by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporations (AMC) for being illegal but was reconstructed. The councillors argued that they had not received enough time to regularize the structure. The AMCs standing committee chief, Devang Dani, stated that the illegal building would be demolished in a couple of days.
