Agra: Aligarh police have decided to send a team of officials to New Delhi to trace the resident doctor who has been accused of raping a minor girl on the pretext of marriage.On Wednesday, police raided several places in Aligarh to nab Shadad Khan, a resident doctor pursuing MDS in Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College of Aligarh Muslim University, who has been accused of raping a 17-year-old girl.Talking to TOI, Israr Ahmad, SI of Medical Chowki outpost under Civil Lines police jurisdiction, said, “The accused is on the run. He originally hails from Mayur Vihar phase I in New Delhi. A team will be sent to the capital city to find his whereabouts. On Wednesday, we raided several places in Aligarh to trace him but in vain.”Shafey Kidwai, in-charge of public relations department of AMU, said, “We are yet to receive any official communication from local police about the case against the MDS student. We learned about the incident only through media. If the victim approaches us with a complaint, we will pursue the case and take necessary disciplinary action.”It may be recalled that police had registered a case against Shadab Khan under section 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and the relevant sections of POCSO Act based on the girl’s complaint.
