Prime suspect in Mainpuri murder case held

On the day of the murder, the suspect called Imran to meet him at a bus stop. Agra: Mainpuri police have arrested Gaurav Kumar who allegedly killed 25-year-old Mohammad Imran on Monday, the day Eid was celebrated. When Imran reached there, Kumar threw chilli powder into his eyes, hit him with a brick, before slitting his throat, police said. Looking at the sensitivity of the matter, a police force was deployed in the area to prevent any untoward incident.As many as five people, including prime suspect Kumar, have been booked under IPC sections 147 (rioting), 148 (armed with deadly weapon), 302 (murder), 394 (voluntarily causing hurt in committing robbery). Police said three teams have been constituted to arrest Kumar’s associates.During preliminary interrogation, Kumar revealed that he had fought with Imran a day before the murder over a petty issue of payment to an auto rickshaw driver.
