Police reopen history sheets of SP MLA, son

Ajay Kumar had noted that the records were missing and ordered an inquiry.According to police sources, the allegations of burning history sheets of the two political leaders have been found to true.

FIROZABAD/AGRA: Firozabad police have again opened history sheets of three-time SP MLA Hariom Yadav and his son Vijay Pratap , who is former zila panchayat president, putting in details of all their past criminal cases.In 2013, a year after Akhilesh Yadav formed the SP government in the state, the history sheets of the duo were mysteriously burnt, allegedly in the presence of senior police officers, at Shikohabad police station. Investigation of the case is yet to be completed.Superintendent of police Ajay Kumar said, "Their history sheets have been opened once again in Shikohabad police station. The district crime record bureau will issue their history sheets numbers."The burning of history sheets case had come to light during the annual inspection of Shikohabad police station in April this year. Ajay Kumar had noted that the records were missing and ordered an inquiry.According to police sources, the allegations of burning history sheets of the two political leaders have been found to true. They said more than 12 cases each are registered against Hariom Yadav and Pratap.The police inquiry into the burning of crime records is yet to be completed. While the police have so far recorded the statement of the head clerk of Shikohabad police station, those of the then SO V K Tiwari and CO Sanjay Kumar are yet to be recorded. They have been promoted and transferred out of Firozabad in the meantime. On Thursday, Pratap lost the post after panchayat members voted against him during a poll.
