Hindu right activists beat up five people for transporting buffaloes in Aligarh

They were transporting the buffaloes in two vehicles, a truck that had 22 buffaloes, and max carrier with 6 buffaloes in it. He said his workers had only stopped the vehicles and had informed the police.He alleged that police action was biased and his workers were wrongly booked. AGRA: Five people were beaten up by alleged Hindu activists in Aligarh on Sunday for transporting buffaloes in a "cruel manner".Two FIRs were registered by the police, one against the Hindu activists for assault and the other against the five victims for cruelty against animals.Talking to TOI, SSP Rajesh Pandey said that it was not a matter of illegal transportation of cattle but the inhuman way the bovine were being transported. He said a case was registered under the Prevention of Cruelty of Animal Act against the five people who were transporting buffaloes from Rajasthan to Aligarh slaughter houses They were identified as Rashid (Hathras), Khalid, Bhura and Azad from Bulandshahar and one from Mathura.According to police, the incident occurred around 3:30 pm on Sunday when the five victims were on their way from Rajasthan. The buffaloes were literally stuffed in the vehicles and a couple of them had fainted due to suffocation.Circle officer, Iglas, Alok Singh Fauzdar said that a case for rioting (147 IPC), causing hurt (323 IPC) and Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace (504 IPC) has been registered against hindu activists- Sanju Bajaj, Harish Chand, Amar Kumar, Shiv Kumar, Pawan Kumar and 10 others.When contacted, district President of Hindu Jagran Manch , Rishi Pal Singh, said that he was aware of the incident but denied that any violence took place.
