Woman’s fingers chopped off, son’s hands broken in Chhatral

The thumb, index finger and middle finger of Roshanbiwi Syed, 52, were chopped off, while her son, Farzan, 32, suffered fractures on his hands and skull.
Ahmedabad: In a heinous act, a Muslim woman and her son were attacked by assailants allegedly connected with Hindu right-wing groups in Chhatral town of Gandhinagar district.
“In this incident (of chopping fingers), police will lodge a complaint under IPC Section 307 for attempt to murder and will conduct a thorough investigation to find out whether it was an incident of communal violence or personal enmity,” Yadav said.
Sources in the hospital said that their conditions were currently stable.
But the tension escalated last night after a scuffle between the two groups reason of which could not be confirmed.Aslam Syed, nephew of Roshanbiwi, said that communal tension ran high in Chhatral last night following a scuffle between two groups.
