Kolkata-bound flight suffers bird-hit, forced to return to Ahmedabad

City-based professor Pravin Mishra, whose mother was on this flight, wrote on Twitter: "My 83-yr-old mother took #Indigo flight 6E-125 from Ahmedabad for Kolkata at 6:40 am. The flight eventually departed at around 9.13 am for Kolkata," Manoj Gangal, Airport Director said. A Kolkata-bound IndiGo flight with 178 passengers on board had to be flown back to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport after it suffered a bird-hit within 25 minutes of its take off from the city airport at 6.40 am on Tuesday. "It was a suspected bird-hit as we found three pigeons intact on the runway. "The pigeons could have died due to the impact or maybe due to the exhuast fans of the aircraft," sources said.

A Kolkata-bound IndiGo flight with 178 passengers on board had to be flown back to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport after it suffered a bird-hit within 25 minutes of its take off from the city airport at 6.40 am on Tuesday. It caused the flight to delay by two hours. IndiGo 6E-125 took off at its scheduled departure time. It flew back to the SVPI at 7.05 am after the aircraft was hit by a bird. "It was a suspected bird-hit as we found three pigeons intact on the runway. The flight eventually departed at around 9.13 am for Kolkata," Manoj Gangal, Airport Director said. "The pigeons could have died due to the impact or maybe due to the exhuast fans of the aircraft," sources said.
