The cops reached there and took the situation under control but after some time trouble broke out in Yakutpura and Fatehpura too. Our teams reached Yakutpura where they came under the attack from the mob,” said D G Sosa, police inspector, City police station.PSI Arun Mishra, who came under the attack, even reportedly pulled out his service revolver to control the rioters . A SRP jawan, Sanjay Rao, who was on duty, suffered injuries after someone pelted a stone at him. The police lobbed three teargas shells to disperse the mobs. Eight residents of Yakutpura have been booked in connection with the incident. Also, a separate complaint of attempt to murder has been registered at the City police station against about four unidentified persons who attacked and injured Kapil More near Sarasiya Lake when he was on his way to his home. When asked the reason behind the communal clashes, Sosa said that it was a fallout of the communal riots that happened near Nyay Mandir on June 16 during Eid. A procession taken out by Rajput Karni Sena for celebrating birth anniversary of Maharana Pratap had caused the trouble on the evening of Eid celebrations. Some members of the procession changed the route and reached Dudhwala Mohalla where stone pelting started. A police complaint filed in connection with the incident stated that members of the procession began stone pelting and shouted provocative slogans. “That incident may have led to the communal tension that happened on Tuesday night,” Sosa said. The police have increased patrolling in the walled city to avert further tension.
