Gujarat: Dahod, Narmada score 100% in four educational development indicators

Dahod and Narmada have scored 100% in four out of eight indicators set by the central government for educational development, claim-ed the state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama. Chudasama said, "In four indicators, Narmada and Dahod have attained 100% success and they include electricity, drinking water, sanitation and providing books as per requirement. Human Resource and Development minister Prakash Javadekar on Monday interacted with state educational ministers across the country through video conferencing, taking stock of performance of the states on national indicators for educational development. Apart from this, mission education has been launched by the state across all districts but more importance will be given to Dahod and Narmada." In upper primary to secondary, there was an increase from 93.82% to 96.94%.

Chudasama said, "In four indicators, Narmada and Dahod have attained 100% success and they include electricity, drinking water, sanitation and providing books as per requirement. Top officials from the education department have been constantly following up on the same." He further added, "In Dahod, 98.10% transition rate was achieved against a target of 98% whereas the same for primary to secondary was 93.48% as against a target of 90%. In Narmada, as against 95%, 98.24% was achieved. In upper primary to secondary, there was an increase from 93.82% to 96.94%. To improve learning outcomes, the state has taken some initiatives such as monitoring, weekly tests, teacher training, etc. Apart from this, mission education has been launched by the state across all districts but more importance will be given to Dahod and Narmada."
