Gujarat: Rajpath Club management booked for violating police notification

A complaint was lodged with the Vastrapur police station, late on Monday night, against the management of Rajpath Club for violating the police commissioner's notification. Sudhir Desai, DCP of traffic, said, "We have lodged a case against the management of the club for violating the CP's notification and are further investigation the matter." Although the police had sent a notice to the club in February, the management had taken no action. The club lacks the facility for parking vehicles, leading to traffic problems in the area. The directive was issued on February 17, 2017, stating that no one can park their vehicles within 50 metres of the crossroads.

After the high court came down heavily on the AMC and police over traffic woes on Monday, the AMC's estate department sealed Rajpath Club for the lack of parking facilities; around 47 cars which were parked on the service lane of SG Highway were also seized by traffic cops. The club lacks the facility for parking vehicles, leading to traffic problems in the area. Although the police had sent a notice to the club in February, the management had taken no action. A case was lodged with the Vastrapur police station on Monday by Inspector NH Rana of SG Highway-2 police station against the president, vice president and managing trustees of Rajpath Club under IPC section 188 (disobedience of order duly promulgated by public servant), 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others), 283 (danger or obstruction in public way or line of navigation), 427 (mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), 431 (mischief by injury to public road, bridge, river or channel) and Gujarat Police Act 102,117 and 131.
