Rain lashes Saurashtra, south Gujarat, situation grim

These areas include Manavadar (281 mm), Vansda (238 mm), Waghai (214 mm), Porbandar (189 mm), Ranavav (188 mm), Mendarda (153 mm), Vanthali (152 mm), Lalpur (150 mm), Kutiana (146 mm), Gandevi (145 mm), Jamjodhpur (145 mm), Keshod (125 mm), Chikhali (125 mm), Mangrol (125 mm), Dolvan (115 mm), Bhanvad (114 mm) and Malia (108 mm). So far this season, south Gujarat received 822 mm of rainfall against it's annual average 1435 mm. North Gujarat region has received 18.30 per cent rainfall which is 132 mm against the 732 mm average. Annual average rainfall (1988 to 2017) of Gir Gadhada is 856 mm against which this year, it has received 1085 mm rainfall so far. The annual average of rains in state is 831 mm against which it has received 338.49 mm.

Continuous downpour in parts of Saurashtra has resulted in several inches of rainfall being recorded in a matter of half a day Khambhalia received 14 inch (311 mm) of rainfall in 12 hours, on Tuesday between 8 am and 8 pm. The state has received 40.73 per cent of rainfall so far. The annual average of rains in state is 831 mm against which it has received 338.49 mm. In last 24 hours, 206 talukas have received noticeable rainfall, which has gone up to 20 inches. Between Monday and Tuesday morning, Gir Gadhada received 496 mm of rainfall, it being 126.81 per cent of its average. Annual average rainfall (1988 to 2017) of Gir Gadhada is 856 mm against which this year, it has received 1085 mm rainfall so far. Some pockets received over 100 mm rainfall. Parts of the state continued to be inundated due to the incessant rainfall on Tuesday. The state government has taken precautionary actions and deployed rescue teams to assist people stuck due to the floods which have been plaguing the state for a week now. So far this season, south Gujarat received 822 mm of rainfall against it's annual average 1435 mm. This means the region has received 57.27 per cent of rainfall. Some parts, however, have still not received noticeable rainfall. The Kutch region remains parched and has received only 8 mm rainfall so far, which is roughly two per cent of its annual average rainfall. Bhachau and Mandvi talukas haven't received rainfall either. North Gujarat region has received 18.30 per cent rainfall which is 132 mm against the 732 mm average. Dhansura has received the highest maximum rainfall in this region so far which is 392 mm (43.93 per cent) against the 892 mm average. PM’S JULY 20 VISIT POSTPONED
