Gujarat High Court grants conditional approval to Gujarat Forensic Sciences University admission process

  • | Thursday | 19th July, 2018

The court, however, allowed the University to carry out its admission process for this academic year, albeit under the supervision of the admission committee for professional courses. A division bench of the Gujarat High Court, headed by Justice MR Shah on Wednesday, called a government resolution of the state government, exempting Gujarat Forensic Sciences University (GFSU) from centralised admission process as one that was put out without application of mind. It also criticised the government for changing its policies every now and then, as a result of which, students suffered. The court also observed that if an University was to be exempt from the admission process, it can be done under Section 13 (A) and that such exemptions were to be allowed only for Centres of Excellence and that too after following the prescribed procedure. The petition filed by Sandip Munjyasara has stated that the GFSU issued advertisement, inviting application for admission in various courses such as M.Tech, M.Pharm and MBA, which is in violation of the provision of the Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees Act.
