Gujarat: Rainfall likely to reduce from Wednesday, says Met Department

At present, there is a low-pressure area extending from the Bay of Bengal to northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring areas. The associated cyclonic circulation extends to 3.1km above mean sea level over Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra while it's at 5.8km above mean sea level over Maharashtra and neighbouring areas. In the state, 158 talukas received rainfall on Tuesday. There is a cyclonic circulation over northeast Arabian Sea off the Saurashtra coast at 3.1km above mean sea level. A broad circulation from Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat, extending southwest from Saurashtra over the Arabian Sea is expected to form by Wednesday.

According to the weatherman, the rains would recede from Wednesday. At present, there is a low-pressure area extending from the Bay of Bengal to northeast Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring areas. Trough from this UAC extends northeast, towards Saurashtra and southwest towards west-central Arabian Sea. A broad circulation from Madhya Pradesh to Gujarat, extending southwest from Saurashtra over the Arabian Sea is expected to form by Wednesday. Under this system, rainfall over Gujarat has increased and therefore, fairly widespread rain and thunder showers are likely to continue in many districts of Gujarat until Saturday. However, the intensity of rains is expected to decrease. On Tuesday, Ahmedabad received light to moderate rains, with an average of 4.52mm. But even with this little rainfall, the monsoon control room of the AMC received three complaints of road resettlement. Across the state, Waghai received 94mm of rainfall, Halol 93mm, Dharampur 87mm, Shahera 85mm, Morva Hadaf 82mm, Balasinor 79mm and Kapadvanj 76mm of rainfall on Tuesday between 8 am and 8pm. In the state, 158 talukas received rainfall on Tuesday.
