AHMEDABAD: A 28-year-old woman who has had an inter-faith marriage and lives at a rented place on Sindhu Bhavan Road in Vastrapur has filed an FIR with Vastrapur police station alleging that one Narendrasinh Jethwa , who is handicapped, his two sons Ruturajsinh, Hitendrasinh, and his wife Chhaya Jethwa, tried to disrobe her and tore her clothes in public to shame her for marrying outside her religion.Police said the incident took place at about 3.15pm on November 7. Their team had rushed to the spot on receiving a control room message and arrested all accused.“Her husband works at a private shop in Bodakdev,” said a police official.According to the FIR, when the victim was cleaning her house for Diwali , Narendra, who had been staring at her for the last 20 days. He also used to abuse her verbally, by saying that she looked like a prostitute. Finally, Narendra barged into her house on November 7 and molested her.“The victim alleged that Narendraisnh then tried to pull off her pyjamas saying, “Today, I will make you naked.” The victim also alleged that Narendrasinh touched her private parts. When she raised an alarm, Narendrasinh’s sons — Ruturaj and Hitendra — and his wife Chhaya, rushed in. The victim alleged they tore her top and pyjamas. She was saved from the accused by a neighbour,” said a police official.Senior police officials said the woman later called up her husband who called up the police control room. “Our team rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. We are probing the case in detail,” said a senior police official.
