He approached the seller, who introduced himself as Manjitsinh Jain, an employee of(CISF) deputed at Ahmedabad airport.They had conversations over the phone and decided to seal the deal. Mehariya deposited Rs 25,000 in the account number provided to him. However, the bike never came. Realising that he had been cheated, he approached the police. “I was taken into confidence by the man as he sent his identity cards and other document showing that he is an army man and genuine seller. I believed him and decided to purchase the bike,” said Mehariya.“The man had asked me to deposit total amount of Rs25000 on different reasons and I did that by paying through my debit card. However, I never got the delivery. When I approached him on the given mobile number, he dared me to do whatever I could,” Mehariya said. “The police need to take prompt action as I have come across a couple of other incidents where a man posing as armyman had duped people of thousands of rupees. I lost my money but I want to make sure others are not cheated like this,” he added.“We received a complaint on Friday regarding the cheating on the pretext of selling the bike. We have forwarded it to concerned person in our department,” said Rajdeepsinh Zala, head of the cyber crime cell.
