On March 4, the PM is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Rs 1,000 crore Umiya Dham campus in Ahmedabad. On March 5, he is likely to visit Saurashtra to attend an event organized by the Leuva Patel community and inaugurate several public works, including the new Rajkot international airport. In the past one month, the PM visited Gujarat thrice and stayed in the state for four days.On February 28, he is expected to kick off several projects and inaugurate the newly built Civil Hospital campus.

GANDHINAGAR: With the Lok Sabha elections only a few months away, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a series of public meetings and inaugurate several projects in his home state before announcement of poll dates. In the past one month, the PM visited Gujarat thrice and stayed in the state for four days.On February 28, he is expected to kick off several projects and inaugurate the newly built Civil Hospital campus. According to the state government sources, the PM is also likely to inaugurate a few schemes whose memorandums of understanding were signed at the recently held Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit.Sources said that the PM’s next visit to the state will be on March 4 and 5. On March 4, the PM is scheduled to lay the foundation stone of Rs 1,000 crore Umiya Dham campus in Ahmedabad. On March 5, he is likely to visit Saurashtra to attend an event organized by the Leuva Patel community and inaugurate several public works, including the new Rajkot international airport. He is expected to lay the foundation stone for Rs 1.5 lakh crore industrial and public work projects.According to party sources, about a dozen visits to Gujarat is on the PM’s itinerary till April this year.This year, the PM was in the state on January 17, 18 and 19 and again on January 30. He took part in the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, inaugurated a defence equipment manufacturing plant at Hazira and opened the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at Dandi in Navsari and also took part in three major events in Surat.“To boost the party’s poll prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, we have requested at least 20 major public meetings by the prime minister covering all 26 constituencies in the state,” said a senior party leader.“Due to his tight schedule, it is likely that the PM may organize 10 to 12 cluster public rallies, covering all Lok Sabha seats in the state. We will request the PM to address public meetings from Delhi using digital and other technologies,” he added.
