19 food outlets across city under AMC scanner

Of 19 we served notices, three units namely Jassi De Parathe, Vastrapur, The Grand Thaker, SG Highway and Hina Foods, Panjrapol have been issued closure notices over cleanliness. In-charge medical officer of health Bhavin Solanki said, “Strict action will be taken against those using substandard food, selling it or storing it. They will have to pay penalty and maintain cleanliness and hygiene before they will be allowed to open.” Fifteen suspicioushave been sent for testing.

As many as 19 restaurants were served notices and 400 kg of food items, including poha, potatoes, bread, gravy, chutney, vegetables and flour were destroyed, while Rs 52,000 administrative charges were recovered.Suspicious food samples were seized from The Grand Thaker at Dev Arc complex (1 kg of hing and 1 kg chocolate powder), Jassi de Parathe near(red chutney and moongdal halwa), Fozzie’s Pizzaiolo on SG Highway (tomato gravy), Pragati - The restaurant and Banquet near Krishnanagar (tomato gravy), Unique restaurant, Nikol (cottonseed oil), Mayur restaurant, Khokhra circle (malai paneer), Hotel Royal Landmark,(Red gravy), Hina Foods, Panjrapol (brown gravy), Real Taste Restaurant, Hathijan (cottonseed oil), Hasmukh Mavavala, Manek Chowk (maavo), Shyamshikhar restaurant, Bapunagar (chilly powder), Bhagyoday restaurant, near Relief Cinema (chilly powder) and, Bodakdev (gravy).They have been sent for testing.
