Swine flu cases near 2,000 in Gujarat, cross 600 in Ahmedabad

At 71, the death toll in Gujarat was the second highest after Rajasthan (127). 43 of the new cases were reported in Ahmedabad city, followed by 11 in Vadodara city, eight in Anand, and seven in Sabarkantha, the state authorities said in a release. Three cases were reported in Rajkot and Kheda, and two each in Ahmedabad district, Mehsana, Rajkot city, Banaskantha, Porbandar, and Surendranagar. One case each was reported from Surat city, Bhavnagar rural, Patan, Bhavnagar city, Gandhinagar city, Gandhinagar rural, and Bharuch. The release said that 632 swine flu patients are undergoing treatment, whereas 1,280 have recovered.
