Police have started investigation after registering Pinkesh Shah’s complaint. Police are developing face of the accused from the CCTV footages and finding out if he was involved in any other thefts elsewhere in the city.The complainant was in the office on second floor of Diamond Village building in Jaddakhadi of Mahidharpura when the accused came there at around 3.25pm and started to make some signs with his hands. He was begging posing as a hearing and speech impaired person. Dressed in white shirt with blue stripes and a pair of dark trousers, he showed some papers to the complainant.While showing the papers, he covered a packet of diamonds lying on the desk. The accused lifted the packet when the complainant was taking out some cash from his pocket to give to him. He then left the office but the complainant did not realize immediately that his diamond packet has been stolen. The complainant approached police when he came to know about the theft later.“We are yet to get success in the case, but making attempts to identify the accused. We are trying to trace his location through CCTV footages,” said a police officer of Mahidharpura police station.
