Ahmedabad wedding planner cheated of 87 lakh

AHMEDABAD: A Thaltej-based wedding planner on Tuesday filed a complaint with Sola high court police stating that he had been cheated of Rs 87 lakh by a city-based businessman who refused to pay the bills after having his son's wedding arranged in a princely manner.Police said that the complainant, Tushar Ajmera, a resident of Sursagar Tower in Ghatlodia, who runs a wedding planning firm in Thaltej, had five years ago signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a Shilaj resident, Navneet Modi to arrange Modi's son's wedding. Thus, each and every affair of the marriage was so expensive that the entire cost reached Rs 1.52 crore," said the official.Out of Rs 1.52 crore, Modi had paid Rs 65 lakh in instalments but when Ajmera demanded rest of the money, the accused person threatened him and said that he would not pay any more.After this, Ajmera approached police and filed a complaint of cheating, breach of trust and criminal intimidation.
