Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Kevadia on Tuesday to see the Sardar Sarovar Dam brimming to capacity.
On Sunday evening, the dam reached its full reservoir level (FRL) of 138.68 metres, the managing director of Sardar Sarovar Nigam Ltd tweeted.
Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani had earlier sent an invite to the Prime Minister to celebrate the "historic" event.
"It's indeed a historical moment as Sardar Sarovar Dam reaches its full level of 138.68 metres.
Before leaving for Kevadia, where he will visit the dam around 8 am on Tuesday, the Prime Minister will visit his mother Hiraba at her residence in Gandhinagar.
