PM Narendra Modi to address rally in Gujarat, perform puja at Narmada dam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a public rally at Kevadia and inspect development works in and around the Statue of Unity on Tuesday. Modi will be joined by Gujarat Governor Devvrat Acharya, Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, and hundreds of party workers. Early on Tuesday morning, Modi will witness the historic event of the Sardar Sarovar Dam reaching its Full Reservoir Level (FRL). As part of the state government's Namami Devi Narmada programme, the Prime Minister will offer a puja near the dam site. Earlier, addressing a press conference to announce the programmes as part of the Namami Devi Narmada Mahotsav, Home Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja said that the dream of Narmada dam could be fulfilled due to the efforts of Modi.

Early on Tuesday morning, Modi will witness the historic event of the Sardar Sarovar Dam reaching its Full Reservoir Level (FRL). On Sunday evening, the dam was close to its full reservoir level of 138.68 metres. Modi, who turns 69 today, will also visit his mother Hiraba at her residence in Gandhinagar around 6 am to seek her blessings on his birthday. As part of the state government's Namami Devi Narmada programme, the Prime Minister will offer a puja near the dam site. He will inspect the jungle safari, the rafting project and also visit the Children's nutrition park near the Statue of Unity. PHOTO EXHIBITION The BJP in the state inaugurated a photo exhibition at the BJP headquarters in Kamalam in Gandhinagar. Titled Modi: A story of Mother India’s son, the exhibition will trace the journey of Modi from his days as a pracharak to his work in the RSS and his political rise MD Sardar Sarovar Narmada Nigam Ltd, Rajiv Kumar Gupta, said that the dam reaching the FRL will ensure that there is availability of water from the dam for two years even if rains are inadequate. "It will also benefit Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra." Earlier, addressing a press conference to announce the programmes as part of the Namami Devi Narmada Mahotsav, Home Minister Pradipsinh Jadeja said that the dream of Narmada dam could be fulfilled due to the efforts of Modi. "He gave permission to put gates on the dam within 17 days of assuming charge as the Prime Minister. This is why we could close the gates and store the water which will now address the water problems in the state," said Jadeja. A water ride has also been thrown open in the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad as part of it. Programmes aimed at Swachhta mission and reducing single-use plastic have also been planned across the state. The BJP opened a photo exhibition at the party headquarters in Kamalam in Gandhinagar.
