AMC has issued notices to them to take action under civil and criminal law, including filing of FIR against their management for deliberately and wiling fully disobeying and causing grave prejudice to the safety and security of the public at large.
Over a dozen private hospitals in Ahmedabad have been served notices due to non-compliance of regulation order dated 16th May 2020 under Epidemic Diseased Act 1897, passed by Municipal Commissioner, Ahmedabad. 16 hospitals which have been served notices include Sterling (Thaltej), SGVP (SG Highway), SAL (Thaltej) and Medilink for non-compliance of an earlier order directing them to provide 50% of their Covid-19 beds to patients referred by AMC and the rest 50% to be treated privately.
The AMC notice said the hospitals have refused to cooperate in a war-like situation and therefore action can be taken against them under the civil and criminal law, including the filing of FIR against the management for “deliberately and wilfully disobeying and causing grave prejudice to the safety and security of the public at large’’.

In a double whammy for Sterling Hospital off Drive-In Road, AUDA too issued it a notice on Tuesday while referring to the terms at the time of sale of land that the hospital would use its premises for charitable activities.
The notice gave time until May 22 to explain why the hospital was not cooperating with AMC’s direction to provide 50% of beds to patients referred by it. The notice said, “If a reply is not forthcoming by said date, then AUDA would initiate action to take back the land along with possession of the construction over it.”
